Soft Skills – Challenging Audiences:
Public speaking can be a challenging experience. In a Seinfeld episode Jerry Seinfeld states that in a recent survey people said they fear death less than public speaking. WOW! Public speaking is still one of folks greatest fears. As of 2019 Forbes Magazine confirmed this was still true. And MentalHelp.net confirms this is still true today! We have talked about being prepared, knowing your content, keeping up to date with knowledge. In this lesson we discuss Difficult Audiences. Now most of us are not likely to encounter the worst characters among the Difficult Audiences Hall of Fame, but we do need to understand where these problems come from, and how we might help ourselves, our learners, and yes – our difficult audience members – when these situations arise. So let’s take a closer look.
