Jennifer Williams 0:40 Let us draw our attention to all that this month offers. Jennifer Williams 0:47 June is Pride Month, celebrating the LGBTQIA plus community and recognizing that love is love. Recognizing authenticity and bravery. Jennifer Williams 1:10 This month also marks the start of Summer in the Northern Hemisphere. While meteorologically, Summer starts June 1 and ends August 31. Astronomically, Summer starts on the solstice which falls on Sunday, June 20, this month. And that lasts until the autumnal equinox, which welcomes Fall on September 22. The summer solstice brings us the longest period of sunlight hours in the year and this year that occurs on Father's Day. While there are several different names for the solstice, including Litha, one of the four Quarter Days, St John's day, and Midsummer, which can also be celebrated on June 24. And this year falls on one of the last of three super moons known as the Super Strawberry Moon. Jennifer Williams 2:25 Despite these numerous names and varying timeframes this month allows for us to recognize the changing of seasons and what that represents and means to us. Jennifer Williams 2:40 I welcome you to envision the environment that you need right now. Jennifer Williams 2:49 Take a moment to define that space. What does your space look like? Jennifer Williams 2:59 Does your space have a familiar smell or sound that welcomes you? Jennifer Williams 3:08 Does your space have a familiar touch? Jennifer Williams 3:12 A breeze. The grass. Or water that trickles by. Jennifer Williams 3:26 Whatever space you choose, remember that this space and this time is yours. Jennifer Williams 3:36 A space where you feel safe and at peace. I welcome you to begin by finding a comfortable position. allow your body to begin to relax to the extent that you are comfortable with. Jennifer Williams 4:00 Breathe in and out. Take a cleansing breath in and breathe out any unwelcome tension that you find in your body. Jennifer Williams 4:22 Feel a gentle warmth beginning at the bottom of your feet. It may feel like stepping into a warm bathtub or onto the grass in a familiar park. Or it may feel like a tingling sensation or simply calm and loose. Jennifer Williams 4:57 Allow this serene feeling to spread over your feet and up to your ankles. Notice the relaxation rising above your ankles. Flowing gently up your lower legs. Feeling the warmth in your lower legs as the relaxation rises to your knees... and continues to your upper legs. Allow the relaxation to continue to spread throughout your body. Jennifer Williams 6:00 Rising from your upper legs and creeping up through to your stomach and lower back. Breathing in and out, feel the warmth reach to your chest and upper back. Letting your upper arms relax, your elbows, lower arms, through to your wrists. Feel the relaxation spread to your hands. relaxing the palms of your hands and the back of your hands. Jennifer Williams 7:16 Proceeding with each finger and thumb, notice your hands feeling pleasantly warm, heavy and relaxed. Jennifer Williams 7:38 Feel your body relaxing further. The area by your collarbone widens and relaxes allowing for your shoulders to ease back ever so slightly. Jennifer Williams 7:59 Allow your upper back to relax even further, guiding your shoulders down to relax feeling lightness in your neck as your relaxation continues to spread to your chin... through to the back of your head, your mouth, cheeks... up to your nose... and resting at your eyes. Feel your eyelids heavy [and] relaxed. No strain. Notice how your eyebrows are relaxing. Your ears are relaxing. Jennifer Williams 9:20 And draw your attention to your forehead, feeling cool and relaxed. Let the relaxation spread further to the top of your head, to your crown. As you take a deep breath in, and relaxing breathing out. Jennifer Williams 9:53 Your entire body now is relaxed and calm. You can feel the relaxation flowing through your body from your head to your feet. Jennifer Williams 10:09 You can relax even further as you let your spine relax completely. Starting at the top of your spine, where your spine meets your head, and feeling that relaxation. Jennifer Williams 10:29 Allowing your muscles to give up their hold and feeling the relaxation spread down your spine, from your neck and upper back... drifting down to your middle back. Coming to your lower back and all the way down your tailbone at the bottom of your spine. Jennifer Williams 11:04 Notice all of the muscles of your back relaxing completely. Feel the relaxation flowing throughout your body. Jennifer Williams 11:20 Breathing in and now holding that breath... Relax your muscles totally allowing the breath to flow gently out your nose or mouth. Jennifer Williams 11:37 Taking another deep breath in and breathing in calm. Jennifer Williams 11:46 Releasing that breath and breathing out any remaining unwelcome tension. Jennifer Williams 11:57 Continuing to breathe smoothly and slowly as you mentally scan your body. If you notice any blockages or unwelcome tension, focus on that area and direct the warm loving light within, to flow into that area and carry unwelcome tension away. Imagine that the air you're breathing can cleanse your body and remove unwelcome tension. Imagine that with every breath, it carries peace and relaxation. Picture the tension in your body, leaving with each breath out. Now simply sit calmly enjoying the lightness and the feeling of relaxation for a few moments. Jennifer Williams 13:27 Focus your attention now on your body. And think about the healing that needs to take place. Jennifer Williams 13:41 Create an image in your mind of your current state of being majan the physical ailment that troubles you. Whether it be pain, or illness, or injury might be something diagnosed or it might be a problem that is yet to be identified. Jennifer Williams 14:07 Whatever it is that you would like to heal. Imagine this problem in your mind right now. focus on a specific location in your body where the problem is present and makes itself known. You may want to imagine this area as a dark area and picture the healing relaxation as a glowing light. Jennifer Williams 14:39 Seeing the light of relaxation flowing through your body, direct that light that healing relaxation towards the dark identified area. Your body has many ways of healing itself. Feel the healing relaxation promoting your immune system, promoting strengt, promoting growth and healthy tissue, removing unhealthy matter from your body. Removing toxins and bacteria waste, imagine it all cleaning up your body. Imagine the light of healing relaxation flowing, barreling, touching the edges of the dark problem area in your body. You may notice that small pieces of the dark area are being carried away, whisked away by the healing relaxation. Allow that these dark pieces are able to leave your body as you breathe out. Breathing in health and healing and calm and breathing out tension or illness or problems that lie within. Jennifer Williams 16:22 Allow the light healing relaxation to continue swirling around. As you see, the dark areas are getting smaller. As you see the dark area completely enveloped by relaxation. This healing relaxation makes the dark area lighter and lighter until it carries away anything that is not good for your body. Jennifer Williams 17:04 Imagine your immune system working to heal you - picturing the cells you need going to the places they need to go, cearing out pathways and working as needed to heal your body. Jennifer Williams 17:21 Imagine that healing relaxation, flowing and coursing through. Picture your body entirely filled with calm, ease, peace. Carrying away any discomfort and bringing with it healing. Allow your body and your mind to heal itself. Taking in a cleansing breath and breathing out whatever is not serving your body or your soul. Breathing in good and light. Breathing out all of the old air... relaxing for a few moments. And imagining the healing process going on within your body within your mind. Feeling confident in your body's ability to heal and create a safe and calm space. Jennifer Williams 18:57 So as you return to your usual level of wakefulness and alertness, you're going to feel our body and mind becoming more aware of our surroundings. We're gonna remember that this space that was created is ours. And we have the path and the key to return to this sacred space that is within all of us whenever we seek shelter or refuge from the day.
