Jessica Stover (00:06): This recording is an offering of Networks for Training and Development's online university. Jen Williams (00:15): Welcome to our monthly Networks Healing Circle call for the month of June 2022. My name is Jen Williams and I will be with you for this month's Healing Circle. June is Pride Month, celebrating the LGBT community and recognizing that love is love. This month also brings disability pride in Philadelphia. The super moon season of 2022 continues with the Full Strawberry moon on June 14th. This month on June 19th, we have Father's Day, honoring the dads in our lives. And Juneteenth, celebrating the end of slavery. Celebrate it with cook outs, consuming red colored drinks and foods, celebrating togetherness of family and friends, celebratory fireworks and music. Jen Williams (01:19): June's full moon on the 14th is the second of four back supermoons, and comes just a week before the summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere. This occurs on June 21st and brings with it, the longest period of sunlight hours of the year. This month allows us to recognize the changing seasons and what that represents and means to us. In preparations for these changes, both internally and externally, I welcome you to join me on a chakra body scan, so that we may seek balance to steady us for the changes ahead. I welcome you to envision the environment that you need most right now. Take a moment to find your space. What does your space look like? What does it feel like? Does your space have a familiar smell or sounds that welcome you? Remember that this space and this time is yours. A place where you are space and at peace. I welcome you to begin by finding a comfortable position, allow your body to begin to relax to the extent that you are comfortable with, as we scan our chakras, our energy centers. Jen Williams (03:05): Now, that we found this comfortable position, you're welcome to breathe in through your nose, filling your belly and out through your mouth, feeling your chest lower in rest. Begin by noticing your bones as they connect with the surface you are resting upon. Notice the temperature in the room, the sounds around you, becoming aware of your present state. You're welcome to rest a hand on your belly and chest, feeling your breath move in and up on your inhales and down and out of your body on your exhales. Jen Williams (04:04): We can begin by moving our focus onto the root chakra at the base of our spine, the color red. This is your foundation, your grounding, your survival and security. Your basic needs are housed in this chakra. You may see the color red moving in a clockwise motion. You can move this energy with your breath, inhaling and exhaling. Noticing any emotions, which may can come up as you focus your energy here. Noticing any sensations that you may feel in this area. Jen Williams (05:05): Continue focusing on your breath, on the color red. This energy center is a lotus with four petals, balanced, equal, stable. Continue breathing space into this area and move up as you're ready to the second chakra. The sacral chakra, color orange. Moving this energy with your breaths by inhaling and exhaling, breathing into your hips and lower back. Breathing into this area, swirling that color in a clockwise motion. Noticing any emotions that may come up as you focus your energy here. Noticing any sensations that you may feel in this area. Continuing to focus on your breath, on the color orange. This is your sense of self, pleasure and fluidity. This energy center is a lotus with six petals. Notice these petals unraveling and opening up, as you move your breath in this area in a clockwise motion. Jen Williams (07:06): And gently move up to your third chakra. Solar plexus and the color yellow. Begin by moving your focus on the solar plexus at your navel. This is your energy center for willpower, personal power and strength. Your inner warrior is housed here. You may visualize the color yellow moving in a clockwise motion. Move your energy with your breath, by inhaling and exhaling, noticing any emotions which may come up, any sensations that you may feel. Continuing to focus on our breath and the color yellow. This energy center is a lotus with 10 petals. Take a moment to feel the power in those 10 petals, and allow that power to come out through your fingertips and your toes, continuing to breathe into this area, as we move freely and readily to the next chakra. Jen Williams (08:56): Our fourth chakra - the heart chakra, color green. We move this energy in with our breaths, inhaling and exhaling into your chest and into your awaiting heart. Breathing into this area, and the swirling of that color in a clockwise motion. Noticing any emotions, any sensations that you may experience here, as we continue to focus on our breath. This is your center of love, acceptance, balance, compassion. This energy center is a lotus with 12 petals, beautiful, green, natural and balanced. Keep breathing here to move your green glowing light in a clockwise pattern, moving and rhythm with your lower chakras. When you're ready, we can move up to the fifth chakra - the throat chakra. Begin by moving your focus on the throat chakra at your throat. This is your communication center, your voice, however you choose to express it. Your open expression, creativity, hearing and understanding is housed here, where you can seek your own truth. You may see the color moving in a clockwise motion, aligning with your lower chakras. Inhaling the lightness and exhaling any darkness. Noticing any emotions, which may come up as you focus on your breath, focus on your energy. This energy center is a lotus with 16 petals. Continue to breathe into this space, leaving this color as you move freely up to the next chakra, the sixth chakra, the brow and the color indigo. Move this energy with your breath by inhaling and exhaling into your brow, your third eye. Breathing into this area, swirling that indigo color in a clockwise motion. Noticing any emotions, any sensations that you. New Speaker (13:46): may encounter here. Continue focusing on your breath, on the color indigo. This is your center for seeing, of insight, intuition. This energy center is a lotus' two petals. Breathe in here as you self reflect. Learn what brought you here today. Keep breathing here. You move that energy, your glowing light in a clockwise pattern. Moving in rhythm with all of your lower chakras. When you're ready, we can move to the seventh chakra, the crown chakra. Jen Williams (15:17): The top of your head slowly unfolding in a beautiful purplish light. We begin by moving our focus to the crown chakra at the top of your head. Wisdom, knowledge, and spiritual connection is housed here. The color of violet with white lightness glowing, filling your head, filling your mind. Purifying you from top to bottom. Inhale those pure light and exhale softly, releasing any tension, breathing here and basking in this glory, in your aligned chakras in the light, purplish light, moving in a clockwise motion. Moving in the rainbow of the lower chakras. Filling you with beautiful, wholesome, energy. Noticing your thoughts as they may come up, and watching them as they go. Continuing to breathe in and out. Giving ourselves a minute of pure relaxation. If your thoughts just started to wander, come by back by focusing on your breath, on the lightness of your energy, and exhaling out any thoughts and any feelings that no longer serve you. Breathing in, releasing out and staying here as long as you need, as long as you'd like. Jen Williams (19:26): When you are ready, you are welcome to start to gently move your fingers and toes, feeling the sensation. Fluttering your eyelashes and opening your eyes if they were closed. Bringing your hands to heart center. Holding them there together and inhaling here and exhaling, appreciating this moment and your current state. It has been an honor to share this space and this time with you today. Finding our inner balance as we embark on a period of change. Thank you all again for joining The Networks Healing Circle call.
